Since its inception in 2016, the Textile Palette Exhibition has steadily grown in profile and participation, drawing an increasing number of regional textile and fibre artists. What began at Gallery5 Clunes, has evolved into a much anticipated biennial event, with a journey that has included annual exhibitions at the Red Door Gallery and, more recently, its current home at THE WAREHOUSE CLUNES. Interest now extends well beyond Victoria, attracting artists from across the country.
Opening events have consistently drawn enthusiastic crowds of textile art lovers and collectors. The 2024 exhibition, DISTORTION: The Evolution of Body Enhancement, held in the Esmond Gallery at THE WAREHOUSE CLUNES, was a standout success. Featuring 44 artists and 51 diverse works, the show offered an impressive array of textile art expressions, ranging from sculptural pieces and framed works to unframed textiles, art quilts, and large-scale hanging installations.
